"….give those a quick brush ..with eggy-weggy.."
Ok, Mr Pete, you just reminded me of my Liverpudlian mum, who used to make steak and kidney pie on cold, blustery, blizzardy Ohio winter nights. (The warm kitchen and gorgeous smell was incredibly comforting to come home to, after slogging through several feet of snow for a quarter mile or so after school!) I miss those long ago days, and those pies. You've inspired me to give these a go. And I've subscribed as well.
Happy New Year to you and your family.

Looks great but I would add mushrooms while sauce is thicking. Might not be traditional but would be yummy.
Well done son.
I do a very similar recipe, but it's my own "deluxe" spin- steak, leeks, mushrooms, Guinness, beef stock for the filling. Short crust on the bottom, puff pastry on top.
Looks delicious. New subscriber 👍
Whats brtish about this steak pie … its not british at all its your version or a version of a pie from where you live every area has its own …. So when you say british what parti s british?
Looks delicious.
Must try this!
Loved your comment on the stock measurement '…600 ml – what's that in old money? Let's have a look – about a pint in old money'. Near enough if you are talking about an English pint (20 fl oz) way off the American pint (16 fl oz). Never mind it's a lovely recipe and I am definitely going to see if I can find those pie tins on Amazon in France if not I'll try the Falcon site direct. Cdt from France.
Now look at these incredible pies!
Thank you very much and all the best!
Those pies look so delicious….I am so hungry now. Thanks for all the instruction. I'll be making some of these pies for sure.
Looks yummy! But you definitely don't need that background 'music', especially as you are talking.
Wow loved that Pete and for sure this is getting made, whoops tried tomorrow (during Lockdown)when i get down the Aldi, just a question if I may,you used puff pastrey for the case, does it not matter which you use,I thought PP was for the lids, obviously looking at your results I thought wrong.
Stay safe dude.
Can you warm this kind of pie up to eat the next day or do you have to eat it when it comes out of the oven?
You know Lamma Island I lived there for 11 years.
hungryyyyyy
is that 180 fan oven?
yikes
You weren't long milling that lovely steak. Pie made one myself and didn't last to long on my plate either…delicious
I'll give that a shot. Very nice
Can you make a lamb mince pies
Wonderful job. Stumbled upon your channel, I too sear my meat, so much added texture and scraping the fond off the bottom of the pot adds so much flavour ye would've lost …
Excellent job…
How about a pork pie
I made your leek and potato pie last night. It was a hit and you gave this USA transplant a lovely taste of home. Thank you from an old Ipswich Town girl!
Delish I'm gonna try it wish me luck 🍀 bon appetit
Those new cutting boards are really good like you said 👍🏼 so good that you didn’t use them!
Nice pie though 😉

Cool pie
I love your "eggy-weggy" term. You are very informative and funny, thanks for sharing! God Bless from across the pond!
