It’s a pretty terrifying time right now in the world and so many of you have been saying how hard it’s becoming to find store cupboard staples in the stores, so we’re launching a range of Bake At Home Cupcake Kits that include all the flour, sugar and other non-refrigerated ingredients you need to get your bake on. Check them out over at and once you’ve got yours, or if you’re lucky enough to have access to all the ingredients you need already, watch as the wonderful Sally takes you step-by-step through our first kit: classic Vanilla Cupcakes!

Crumbs & Doilies is a small company with no investors or financial backing other than what we put into it, and I’d like to thank each and every one of you guys for carrying on supporting us through this incredibly tough time. Every Cupcake Kit and item of merch we sell on the Cupcake Jemma website will go towards helping us survive this outbreak, and ensuring we are still here baking cakes, making videos and spreading the love once it’s all over. We can’t do it without you and we’ve all been incredibly moved by the amount of support out there for us. 125g Self Raising Flour
125g Caster Sugar
1/4 tsp Bicarbonate of Soda
125g Soft Unsalted Butter
2 Eggs
1.5 tbsp Whole Milk
1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract

For the Vanilla Buttercream:
200g Soft Unsalted Butter
320g Icing Sugar
3 tbsp Whole Milk
1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract

    I love all your videos, I think you are great!! the way you explain all your recipes is so easy to understand, which is very important especially if someone is starting in pastries. I have a question, personally I don't like desserts too sweet. Today I made your buttercream recipe, it came out perfect, but the only thing because of the type of sugar, it is too sweet for my taste. Can you be so kind to make a recipe (frosting) to cover cakes, that are rich in flavor, but not so sweet!!!. I will really appreciate your help. A big hug, from Dominican Republic.

    I have to tell you, I really enjoy your channel. I'm just getting into baking but really get motivated watching the amazing creations you come up with. But, more importantly, my wife works in healthcare and we are in the US. It is definitely scary out there, but so nice to see you guys spreading the right messages about keeping your hands clean and taking the right steps to not spread COVID.     Just made these and they're fantastic. should get paste colors though, wanted to color cream into green and couldn't do with the liquid coloring. Sad that I didn't know about cupcake jemma when I lived in UK, but I'll come back :)) wish you all the best <3
