AMAZING Chocolate Pecan Pie BROWNIE! | Cupcake Jemma

I love Pecan Pie as much as YOU do but recipes for Pecan Pie are ten-a-penny! I always want to try and give you a little something extra if I can, because I love you. So this recipe is EXTRA extra! It’s got everything you could dream of in a Pecan Pie but with a delicious fudgey chocolate brownie perfectly shoe-horned into the middle. Dreamy!

Recipe –

For the Pastry Base…
120g plain flour
45g light soft brown sugar
120g cold butter, chopped

Chocolate Brownie bit…
85g dark 70% chocolate
85g unsalted butter
165g caster sugar
2 lg eggs
25g cocoa powder
60g plain flour
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp baking powder

For the Pecan Pie Topping…
115g roasted and chopped
75g maple syrup
75g light soft brown sugar
75g double cream
50g butter
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp vanilla
extra pecans for decoration

    I made these delicious beauties last weekend and shared them with my colleagues at work… I made alot of people happy! I doubled the amount for the base and the topping and used the brownie recipe from the Biscoff S'mores brownies because I wanted to use my 10 tin. These were so good but one thing was amiss… After pouring the pecan topping onto the brownies when it cooled off it was dry not ooey gooey. The pecans were falling off as I cut them up or as you ate them. Anyone have any ideas as to why this happened? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you 🙂

    a real southerner would probably balk at the addition of (the very yankee) maple syrup to something "pecan pie" lol, but i think this looks delicious! (i'm from the west coast so i don't have a horse in that… race, or whatever the idiom is ;–)

    I feel like any dessert recipe that doesn't traditionally have chocolate in it like pecan pie or cheesecake, that adding chocolate is a risky proposition.
