It’s PARTY TIME! Why? No reason, but you NEED to make this cake so I propose you find a reason to have a party and MAKE IT HAPPEN! It’s all of your favourite things in one cake!

Recipe –
For the sponge…
375g soft unsalted butter
375g caster sugar
6 lg eggs
375g self raising flour
4 tbs milk + 1 tsp vanilla extract
food colour paste in your choice of colours!

To decorate –
2 batches of my Vanilla Buttercream – recipe here –
meringue poops – recipe here –

    Hi Jemma! So I have measured my cake tins and weirdly they same to be 7.5 inches (inside edge to inside edge) ๐Ÿง would this recipe still work for that size? Also would it be as simple as halving the recipe quantities if I just want to use 2 tins instead of 4? Xx

    I made this last week and although the taste was good I used 8 inch tins so the cakes were quite flat, maybe 7 inch tins would've been better but I never got an answer ๐Ÿ™

    Hi, I made this cake yesterday. The sponge tastes great and is super soft, not dry and really quickly made. I liked the idea of colouring the milk and mix it with the batter.
    I used vanilla-pudding-buttercream ( german style) and together that tastes devine.
    Thank you for the decorating ideas! My buttercream was all shades of pink for a very girly birthday cake.

    I tried this recipe and replaced 200 grams of buttermilk instead of eggs and the cake became horribly soft and sunked in and bad…. Can you please give the same recipe for vegetarians

    Do you freeze done cake before you crumb coat it? Everytime I try to do a crumb cake, my cake seems to soft and falls apart
