Bake a Heart inside a cupcake –
Heart inside a heart Cookies! –

This is a great thing to bake for Valentine’s Day if you are trying to cheer up all your single friends, trying to woo more than one person, or if you just LOVE eating cake! It’ll feed 12-15 people and looks amazeballs!

Recipe –
For the sponge –
500g soft unsalted butter
500g caster sugar
8 large eggs
500g self raising flour
6 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
pink, red and purple food colouring

For the buttercream – (make 3 times this recipe)
PLUS – 5 balls of sugarpaste, each the size of a small tangerine, coloured with pink, red and purple food colouring

    Is it ok if i make the cake a day before cutting it? Like make it on Thursday and cut it on Friday? Will the fondant stay soft?

    I want to try baking it can I ask you
    1) buttercup meringue that you made.
    For here where I am humidity is high, I am afraid it will melt can you advice as I did once my meringue melted once taken out from fridge less than maybe 45min. Temp here abt 34degree

    2) the heart icing can it ba make one day in advance with the cake all assemble and put inside the fridge?

    Just wondering if any bakers can help here – I'm hoping to make Jemma's Rainbow Cake, but her recipe for that uses 9 eggs with 750g each sugar/butter/flour. I see the Valentines Ombré cake uses 8 eggs for 500g each sugar/butter/flour, which is the ratio I'd usually expect (approx. 2oz of everything else per egg). Anyone know why this is? I'd like to follow the Rainbow Cake recipe but I'm concerned it won't be moist enough. I was wondering if I should use the recipe in this video x1.5 to get 6 sponges. Hope that makes sense. Advice welcome! 🙂

    I’m confused. The rainbow cake recipe has 9 eggs. This one has 8 eggs and is only four layers and all the other ingredients are 2/3 of the rainbow cake recipe! I’m so scared 😩🤣
