What’s better than a Rainbow Cake? A Triple Rainbow Cake, obvs! In this video I show you how to turn the dial on your cake up to 11!

What you will need:
4 layers of your favourite cake
4 x quantity of my vanilla buttercream recipe
food colour pastes
sugarpaste + gum tragacanth/gum arabic
various tools and bits and bobs.

    Hi Jemma, did you remove the coloured buttercream from the bags to spread round the cake with the cranked palette knife? Would it be possible to pipe the b’cream onto the side/edge of the cake and then scraping smooth? Love your Rainbow cake btw. I’ve followed you on YouTube for a year now, bought your book etc, and my family now seem to have appointed me as senior birthday cake maker! So I’m making (going to try at least) this for my Granddaughter’s 6th birthday party this weekend. If it looks half as good as yours I’ll consider that a success!

    I made my sister's birthday cake with the rainbow icing inside a few years ago. From memory, i did chocolate cake (but only 2 layers) then covered it in chocolate ganache on the outside. I got italian meringue ALL over my kitchen but it turned out great and was a lot of fun to make! 😍
