Cookies & Cream Oreo Cupcake Recipe | Cupcake Jemma



Oh yes I did! I’ve parted with my beloved Oreo Cupcake recipe for you lot. This is a triple threat Oreo Cupcake with a sneaky Oreo cookie baked INTO the cupcake. Not for the faint-hearted. You have been warned.

For the cupcakes –

85g self raising flour
25g malt drink powder (such as Horlicks or Ovaltine)
15g cocoa powder
1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda
pinch of salt
125g caster sugar
135g unsalted butter, softened
2 large free-range eggs
1 & 1/2 tbsp whole milk
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
2 & 1/2 packets of Oreo cookies

For the Oreo Buttercream –

200g unsalted butter, softened
450g icing sugar, sifted
3 tbsp whole milk
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 packet of Oreos, pulverised!

    Hi, can anyone please help me? If i put oreo cookies as the cupcake base, the batter never cooks after baking for 22mins. The inside is always still wet and it takes s a way longer time to cook but the result is a kinda dense cupcake. If i bake them without the cookies at the base, the batter coos perfectly after 22mins. Can anybody help me with this? Seems like the cookies prevent the heat to cook the batter =(

    If u want to make this into a cake, Quadruple the sponge recipe and double the icing recipe. Also leave extra Oreo powder and mix with 2 tbs of butter and create a biscuit base for the cake… ur welcome ☺️

    I made them for my son for Autism Awareness Day 💙 and used blue food colour for the buttercream. They turned out awesome. Just didn't turn out flat on top, had like a lil volcano top. Why did that happen?

    I just wanted to let you know I made these cupcakes for my mom for mother's day. These are my mom's favorite cookies. I made a bunch for her and my friends & family. Everyone loved them. I couldn't get self rising flour. So I used all-purpose flour instead and everyone loved it. I want to try this recipe again but with the white oreos with a different cupcakes flavor. Don't know what kind yet.
